Hi Lovelies,
Continuing with my last post about fruit that reduce stress, this time I will be speaking about five vegetables that help with your stress levels. I know there might be a few who are not a fan of vegetables, but I truly encourage you to research ways on how you can add vegetables in your diet. You will be surprised about the numerous ways that you can incorporate vegetables in your life.
1. Spinach
Spinach helps produce the happy hormone (dopamine), which helps you keep calm. There are numerous ways on how you can incorporate spinach in your diet. You can use it to make a pie, a green smoothie, a topping on pizza, patties and many others.
2. Carrots
Apart from reducing your stress levels through hormones, if you eat raw carrots, you are crunching on something that is hard, this surprisngly helps with reducing stress because of a simple movement. You can also cook carrots and use them in various ways like soup or as a side.
3. Asparagus
This vegetable is truly magnificent. It helps replenish your folic acid balance, which reduces stress and even cases of depression. You can use this as a side as well, or you could even chop it up and add it to other meals like pies.
4. Kale
I know that not many like kale, but if you cook kale in the oven and make it into kale chips with a pinch of salt, it tastes amazing! You can also make a smoothie with kale and not even notice it is in there.
5. Red Peppers
Red peppers are high in Vitamin C, which as we saw in my previous blogpost, Vitamin C helps reduce stress levels and allows people to cope better. I love red peppers, particularly on pizza.
As you may have noticed, many green vegetables help with stress levels, it would be ideal to keep that in mind the next time you will be cooking or eating your meal.
I hope you enjoyed this post! Let me know what vegetables you like, that help you reduce your stress levels.
Love,
D x
