Hi Lovelies,
I cannot believe that it has been so long since I have last written a blogpost! My career took up a lot of time over the past few months and it has left me drained and to a certain point almost feeling depressed. A few weeks ago I decided that enough was enough! I had to do something to get back on track and enjoy my days once again. Luckily, now that spring has arrived I got the chance to enjoy going out once again without freezing!
Nowadays it has become difficult to balance work and leisure and most probably a lot of you guys out there choose work, just like I did. This might leave you drained and moody. At least thats what happened to me, and I hated that I allowed myself to feel that way. I can understand that work is important especially if you have a family; however, it is ideal to try and find a balance.
Below are a few things that I did, that did not cost me much and that allowed me to fully relax:
1. Walking dogs
A simple trip to a dog or cat sanctuary is so enjoyable if you like animals. I prefer going to dog sanctuaries because I love how crazy and happy they all are and walking them really helps me feel relaxed. I have two dogs of my own but I love visiting shelters and encouraging others to adopt dogs or cats.
2. Going on a hike
I believe that walking is super beneficial in so many ways. Try and go for a hike somewhere in nature where you can fully immerse yourself in the beauty around you and just relax.
3. Yoga or meditation
I do not do any of these at a paid class, I usually just type in what I need on youtube and I follow the video. I recently also downloaded a meditation app called headspace which is actually really helpful; however, you do need to pay for more options.
4. Tea, cookies and a movie
This is my favourite! I love a simple cup of green tea with a delicious cookie and usually a disney movie. It does not cost much and it is so relaxing watching disney movies and having nothing worrying on your mind.
5. Reading a book
Simply finding an hour and reading a book without any form of technology near you is one of my favourite ways to relax!
6. A weekend getaway
I know this would cost more than the rest; however, once in a while I feel that it is needed and I find it so relaxing going to a hotel and just doing nothing related to work for a weekend.
I would love to hear how you guys relax and prioritise your days! Have a great week ❤
Love,
D x
