Hi Lovelies,
Today, I thought I would share with you, food which can help reduce anxiety. Right now, I am going through quite a stressful time, and to be honest I feel like I am rarely hungry; however, I know I need to stay healthy, so I do try and take small portions of food. Right now, my diet mainly consists of eating a lot of fruits and drinking loads of water.
Below I have listed my top food choices, which help reduce anxiety:
1. Asparagus
One of my favourite vegetables, mainly because it simply goes with almost any dish. It is delicious and can be cooked in various ways. It has been proven to reduce anxiety because it is high in folic acid.
2. Blueberries
My only issue with blueberries is that I end up eating them all on my own. Rich in vitamin C and antioxidants, they are highly known to reduce stress and anxiety. One thing that I enjoy doing is freezing blueberries and eating them as a delicious cold snack.
3. Almonds
Definitely helpful during a stressful period, because they are rich in vitamin B2. If you are not a fan of whole almonds, you can opt to have a glass of almond milk or even some almond butter to spread over some fruit.
4. Oranges
Oranges always amaze me, because they almost cure everything. They are delicious, and high in vitamin C, which help fight off illnesses, and also help to reduce stress.
5. Chocolate
My go to dessert! I love chocolate. It helps reduce anxiety because it increases serotonin in the brain, which gives me more of an excuse to take a serving once in a while.
6. Avocado
To be honest, I am not a fan of eating avocado as a whole; however, I love guacamole. Known to be rich in vitamin B, which helps to reduce stress and anxiety.
I would love to know what you find useful to eat when it comes to reducing anxiety. I hope you enjoyed my post!
Love,
D x
Bonus:
When it comes to beverages, I find it helpful when I drink plenty of water throughout the day and green tea in the evening. During stressful times I suggest staying away from coffee and sugary drinks because it usually only makes a person feel more anxious.

I so agree! Proper food choices do affect our moods. A recent scientific study shows the DASH diet to be particularly good at fight depression. Passion fruit is my latest discovery, shocking full of great nutrition. – I used it to make my Mardi Gras cocktail a little healthier, but it’s great on its own, too – fun! – https://cookupastory.wordpress.com/2018/03/06/hurricanes/
